Rahel Jaeggi Berlin

Rahel Jaeggi is Professor of Political and Social Philosophy and director of the Centre for Social Critique at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Her research focusses on the concepts of alienation, commodification and reification, ideology, forms of life, institution and solidarity. As a visiting professor, she has taught at Yale University, at Fudan University in Shanghai, and at the New School for Social Research in New York and was a fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies at Princeton University. She is the author of Alienation (2014), Critique of Forms of Life (2018), Sozialphilosophie. Eine Einführung (co-authored with Robin Celikates, 2017), and co-author of Capitalism – A Conversation in Critical Theory (2018) with Nancy Fraser. Her most recent book, Progress and Regression, was published by Harvard University Press in 2025.
